Report: West Virginia Basketball Adds Transfer Malik Curry from Old Dominion - WVSportsNow

In need of ball-handlers, West Virginia men’s basketball has reportedly added point guard Mailk Curry from Old Dominion, according to Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports.

Curry (6-foot-1, 180 pounds) has started every game for the Monarchs during his two seasons with the team. He led ODU with 15.6 points, 3.6 assists and 1.9 steals in 20 starts this season. He shot 45.6% from the field and 32.8% from 3-point range.

He led the team with 13.4 points and 4.0 assists per game in 2019-20. Prior to ODU, Curry, a Wilmington, Delaware native, played at Palm Beach State.

The Mountaineers are in need of ball-handlers heading into the 2021-22 season after backup point guard Jordan McCabe transferred to UNVL last month and starter Miles “Deuce” McBride’s status is up in the air as he explores the NBA draft. Curry is WVU’s second transfer pick-up this week, joining Dimon Carrigan from Florida International.
