PRESS RELEASE
On April 9, 2021, State Police responded to a residence on Roxford Road South for a reported larceny in progress. A 911 caller advised that they witnessed two males steal a package from a residence on Delmar Place and were last seen running toward Court Street. Troopers responded to the area and located both suspects.
- Zachary Johnson, age 35, from Syracuse, NY, was arrested for Petit Larceny, a class “A” misdemeanor. He was issued an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in the town of Salina Court on May 6, 2021, at 5 p.m.
- Walter C. Walker, age 23, from Syracuse, NY, was arrested for Petit Larceny, a class “A” misdemeanor. He was issued an appearance ticket and is scheduled to appear in the town of Salina Court on May 5, 2021, at 5 p.m.
Troopers were able to recover all of the stolen packages that were taken from the front porch area.
The New York State Police would like to remind residents that packages left on the porch are easy targets for thieves and recommend the following safety tips:
- Encouraging family and friends to pick up packages for you as soon as they’re delivered.
- If you can’t be home, have packages delivered to a friend or a neighbor.
- Use ship-to-store when possible.
- Make sure to track your packages.
- The postal service can also hold your mail during the holidays.
- Use the tracking option if you’re sending a package.
- Report suspicious activity.
State Police were assisted at the scene by the Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office.
